As I mentioned earlier, all areas of my life are in a critical state and need change. But trying to change everything all at once is simply too overwhelming. That’s why I need to identify which areas are the most essential and start with them.
This post isn’t about which area of life is more important than the others. It’s more about the fact that some areas are more foundational — and it’s best to begin with those, gradually moving on to the rest.
Mental & Emotional
In my view, mental and emotional health is where personal transformation should begin. First of all, it’s about my thoughts and feelings toward myself: how I see myself, how I treat myself, how I evaluate who I am. It’s about understanding who I am and what I want from this life. It’s how I perceive the world and society around me. It’s about optimism, hope, and belief in a brighter future. This is the foundation for all other changes.
How many times have we heard of people who seem to have everything: good health, a relationship, a job, a stable income… and yet, they end their own life. Why? Because they couldn’t handle the pressure. Often, it’s not external pressure — it’s the pressure from within, from their own thoughts and emotions. That’s why we have to learn to work with ourselves: our thinking, our feelings, releasing that pressure and pushing away the negativity.
Body & Health
As one monk said, “When you’re healthy, you can have a thousand problems. But when you’re sick, you only have one.”
For me, life already feels better when I feel well physically and mentally. Taking care of the body is just as important as taking care of the mind. Just think of a toothache — when something hurts, you can’t focus on anything else. That’s why it’s so important to stay healthy, so that nothing hurts or gets in the way of living fully.
Work & Money
When your health is okay and your head is in a better place, it’s time to think about earning money. Money isn’t the most important thing in my life, but saying it’s not important at all would be a lie. It’s a tool — and a powerful one. It makes life simpler.
Money means quality food, medical care, clothes, shoes, travel, fun dates, everyday comfort, independence. In the end — it’s peace and ease.
Life & Growing Up
When I talk about “life,” I mostly mean growing up. Because on the outside, I’m a grown man — but inside, I’m still a child. I need to become independent. I need to separate from my parents. It’s possible to begin that process even while living with them. But honestly, it’s easier to just move out and start living on my own.
That’s why I placed “Work & Money” third, and this one — fourth. Because in order to live separately, I first need income. Income brings housing. Housing brings separation.
Relationships
Social connection is a huge part of human life. We are social beings. Right now, I’m socially anxious — but it hasn’t always been this way. I know why it happened, and I believe I can change it. But before I build healthy relationships with others, I want to build a healthy relationship with myself.
Explore & Enjoy
Rest, travel, hobbies, creativity — all of that is amazing. But it’s hard to think about fun when your life feels like ruins. So first — work. Then — rest and joy.
Now that I’ve set my priorities, I can move on to a deeper analysis of myself — within each specific area of life.
